more great british holidays

holiday scene

When we asked for your memories of holidaying in the UK, we didn’t know what to expect. In fact, the responses came flooding in, so many that we didn’t have room to share them with you in one go. So here’s Great British Holidays: Part Two.

The best holiday of all time was in the Lakes near Windermere. It rained for nearly two full weeks. Other couples had travelled from other countries and we all got soaked through to the skin camping. The farmer let us all stay in the barn and dry everything off (a big thank you to him). We had barbeques and sat around drinking coffee. The last day and only one set of clothes left, we went for a walk. The only day it was dry and, guess what, I ended up falling in a river but, ha ho, all I could do was laugh. Nice to reflect with the smell of a warm coffee.

My best holiday was this year. My dad took me to Scotland as a surprise to see the dolphins. It was breathtaking seeing them jump out of the water. My family knew how much I wanted to see dolphins as my room is covered in dolphin ornaments. I can’t get away by myself because of health trouble. I can’t get over my holiday it was great.

My all time favourite place is Findhorn Bay in Morayshire. It is the most peaceful and serene location I have ever been to. The beach goes as far as the eye can see and the water is crystal clear. When the weather is nice, it ranks with all of the places I have travelled to around the world. No one bothers you unless they are saying hello and the people are second to none. There is also a small café looking over the bay to Culbin where you can relax and have a Nescafé while you soak up the atmosphere. True heaven
